Our Lady of Toledo Shrine and Garden of the Lambs is a quiet prayerful refuge inviting all faiths to come and pray. A place of reconciliation and healing. A place to unite globally to support life.
Through our Path to Life services, we will soon be opening our first housing - LADY of Hope Home (Ladies Awaiting Delivery). Plans to be completed in 2002 include a second housing facility, LADY of Faith Home (Ladies After Delivery) which will house mothers and their new borns.
A larger Woman's Care Center, is in the planning stages. This will allow women to receive loving care before birth, loving care during birth, and care after birth until they are ready of return to the mainstream of life.
A Misericordia School for these mothers envisioned at this center would educate the mothers for the pre- and post-natal care and provide education for their future as well. The young mother will be fully aware of the choice of returning to her family with the new born or finding a loving home by way of adoption through the Shelter of the Little Lambs at the Center. A sense of newly acquired responsibility and love will follow her all the days of her life.
An order of nuns with other professional will staff St. Elizabeth Convent to provide the services for the center. A small attached chapel will invite all to prayer.
So this vision includes a life-nurturing set of activities, complete and practical. The Blessed Mother and Our Lady of Toledo Shrine advocates prayerful, peaceful, non-violent, practical alternatives to abortion.
Thus the Shrine and Path to Life embodies a positive, practical alternative consistent with the Gospel message of our Lord Himself.
